Detail of the fountain fretwork - note the miniature lights in the middle of the stars
SOURCE: © Copyright nywf64.com Collection
Detail of the fountain fretwork at night. The miniature lights in the center of the stars can be seen. Close examination shows that the stars had four nozzles located around the center and streams of water would cascade from the nozzles. This feature was discontinued shortly after the opening of the Fair because too much spray was falling on Fairgoers. Looking closely at this photo, the streams of water can be see cascading from the fretwork.

Detail of a single star. Note the four holes that the water would have cascaded from. The center circle would have contained a light bulb.

This view of a star in front of a vechicle gives some idea as to the size and scale of the fountain. It was immense!
